Terraced Garden
A semicircular retaining wall provides the frame for an ample terrace with stunning views. Covered by a tall pergola, a central, projecting niche hosts a fountain and built-in seats. On both sides, two smaller alcoves create additional intimate seating areas. Pergolas have been added to all balconies on the second floor to graciously filter the sun on harsh summer days, and offer a structure for the fragrant jasmine and wisterias.
All structural and decorative elements were custom designed.
Classic Interiors
Antique Italian roof tiles and terracotta pavers, lime-based stucco, French antique wood and stone flooring recreate the quiet atmosphere of timeless beauty found in old Italian villas.
A Mediterranean Garden
A low stone wall with green arches partially encloses the octagonal patio. A round fountain marks the center, connected to a larger, rectangular fountain set in the middle of the lawn through a small canal. Two ample pergolas provide shaded areas for outdoor dining. Along the limestone bordering the fountain and the canal, lavenders and santolinas provide a brush of color throughout summer. Fragrant roses and wisterias, boxwoods, myrtles, laurels and cypresses complete this Mediterranean garden.
Cottage
A low stone wall defines the space surrounding the cottage, located on the top of a hillside, making it an outdoor room with a stunning view for summer entertainment. Stone steps lead to a lavender field and to the olive grove. Draught-tolerant and low-maintenance California native plants have been used in the planters around the wall.
